The 2022 season was seen as the last dance for Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams with the Green Bay Packers as teammates, but most took it as the end of Aaron Rodgers playing for the franchise.
The Las Vegas Raiders acquired Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick and a 2022 second-rounder this week. As part of the trade, Adams will sign a five-year, $141.25 million contract, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
On Saturday, Adams took to social media and sent an emotional goodbye to the Packers and the fan base.
“Today marks the start of a new chapter in my journey,” Adams wrote. “And while I’m incredibly excited to get to work for Raider Nation, I can’t help but to also think about the people and memories that’ve made my last chapter so special.”
Adams then turned his attention to the Packers organization.

“… I can’t thank you enough for seeing in me what no one else did,” Adams continued. “That phone call back in 2014 was one of my most memorable moments and I promised myself then that I would do everything in my power to repay you for taking a chance on me.”
Adding, “We accomplished a lot together and even through the tough times, you always had my back and your trust in me has never wavered. For that I’m forever grateful.”
Adams just completed his eighth season with the Packers, and he has evolved into one of the NFL’s elite wideouts. In 2021, Adams hauled in 123 receptions for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his entire career, Adams has 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns on 669 catches.
