Davante Adams left Green Bay for what appeared to be greener pastures, but things haven’t quite worked out for him since the high-profile departure.
The star wide receiver joined the New York Jets in a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in the season, having grown disenchanted with life in Sin City.
A reunion with former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers appeared the best on paper, considering that both players were in need of a spark. However, the move didn’t bear the expected fruit, with the Jets managing just five wins all season.
The team is now understood to be keen on blowing it up and could facilitate exits for Rodgers and Adams in the offseason. The quarterback is thought to be considering retirement but could just as well end up playing elsewhere next season.

“It’s looking right now like they might need some receiver help in one way or the other… Maybe a veteran or something we’ll see,” the three-time First-Team All-Pro told Kay Adams on her ‘Up & Adams’ show on Tuesday.
Adams highlighted the team’s injury problems, particularly the one to wideout Romeo Doubs, who suffered a concussion against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The wide receiver could opt out of his deal with the Jets and become a free agent in the offseason. His decision might depend on Rodgers’ plans, as he could follow the QB wherever he goes. However, a return to Green Bay could be on the cards should Rodgers decide to retire.
Time will tell.
