Davante Adams has received an important update pertaining to an assault charge levied against him for shoving a credentialed media worker last October.
The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver was likely pleased to find out that the charge has been dropped.
According to the Kansas City Star, a Kansas City municipal court spokesperson informed them that said charge was dismissed by a prosecutor on June 5 and the case is now closed.
The star wideout had been charged with misdemeanor assault for shoving a freelance photographer who was working for ESPN’s Monday Night Football after a game against the Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on October 10.
The man, Ryan Zebley, is suing Adams, as well as both teams, claiming to have suffered whiplash, a headache, and a possible concussion as a result of the incident. Adams had apologized after the game, noting it “was just frustration mixed with [Zebley] literally just running in front of me.”
Alternate camera angles seemed to vindicate the Pro Bowl pass catcher, however.

Adams’ lawyer, J.R. Hobbs, has declined comment on the back of the most recent development.
The player is heading into his second season with the Raiders after registering 1,516 receiving yards on 100 receptions and scoring 14 touchdowns.
