An excited Darron Lee took to social media on Wednesday and greeted his followers after the Jets fired general manager Mike Maccagnan.
The Jets linebacker wrote, “Good afternoon everybody,” along with a rosy-cheeks emoji, in a tweet that has since been deleted. He must’ve gotten some news that we weren’t privy to yet.
Head coach Adam Gase was put in as interim GM for the time being, and in his first move, he traded away…..Darron Lee to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2020 sixth-round pick.
This move was likely expected since the team had recently declined his fifth-year option.
Lee was a 2016 first-round pick under the Maccagnan regime, who appeared in 12 games in 2018 for the Jets, racking up 74 tackles, 0 sacks, 3 interceptions, and five pass defenses.
