Have we seen the last of Zach Wilson as a New York Jet? Robert Saleh doesn’t seem to think so, but everyone else does.
After being benched for the second time this season during his team’s 19-3 loss to the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, Zach Wilson’s future with the Jets (and in the NFL in general) immediately became a hot topic of conversation.
Among those chiming in was former New York Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis. The seven-time Pro Bowler was a member of Gang Green when Brett Favre landed in New York for a season. And he couldn’t help but see a similarity between what Favre went through during that 2008 season and what Zach Wilson is going through now.
According to Revis, the boos that Wilson heard tonight were reminiscent of those that rained down on Favre as he struggled down the stretch in ’08—as the Jets lost four of their last five and missed the postseason after getting out to an 8-3 start.
And as Revis points out, once those boos started to come, Favre was never able to regain the trust of the Jets fans.
Could we see the same thing happen to Wilson? Is he as good as done in the Big Apple?

At this point, it would be shocking if we see him in a Jets uniform in 2023.
