Pittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end Darnell Washington is a big boy.
The 21-year-old, selected out of Georgia in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft, has been wreaking havoc in training.
Standing at 6ft 7in and weighing 265 lbs, Washington is quite a lot to handle. Add speed and craftiness to those attributes and it’s possible that Pittsburgh could have one of the best TEs in the league in a few years.
A video of the youngster running a route shows how scary his game is as he makes easy work of a linebacker, beating him for an easy touchdown pass. Also notable from the footage, which you could check out right below, is the fact that he makes the defensive player look like a child.
Should he keep this type of work up during the season, Darnell is going to be a problem for defenses.

There’s been plenty of hype surrounding the TE since training camp began as he’s received praise for both his receiving and his blocking and is reported to be winning his battles against T.J. Watt.
Washington was tipped to go a lot higher in the draft but slipped into the third round due to concerns over his health. If those concerns are kept at bay, the Steelers could be in for an exciting season.
