Todd Archer of ESPN reported that the Eagles called the Cowboys about a potential trade for CB Darius Slay before Dallas agreed to the deal with the Colts for Stephon Gilmore. That was simply shocking news that a division rival would call another rival about a trade.
The Eagles recently gave Slay’s agent Drew Rosenhaus permission to seek a trade out of Philadelphia. However, Todd Archer updated his report to state the Eagles never called the Cowboys.
The 31-year-old Slay would take to Twitter and react to the debunked report.
“Lol I don’t think they would trade me in the division,” Slay tweeted.
Philadelphia is clearly letting Slay gauge his value right now, as extension talks haven’t gone the way the two parties had hoped.
