Towards the end of 2018, LeBron James stated on his HBO show that him defeating the 2016 Golden State Warriors, who won 73 games in the regular season, was not only his biggest accomplishment, but propelled him to being the best player in league history.
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations, Danny Ainge, was shocked by those comments and even compared The King to the President of the United States.
“His career’s not over,” Ainge said during an interview on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich show (h/t Darren Hartwell of NBC Sports).” “I’d just like to—why he’s saying that, I don’t know. Maybe he thinks that that sells. Maybe he’s taking the Donald Trump approach and trying to sell himself. I don’t know.”
Not a good idea to try and troll a guy who has owned your team for years. I’m sure this is a comment LeBron will put in his arsenal for later.
