Daniel Jones has reportedly ruled one NFL team out amid his search for a new home.
The quarterback is now a free agent following his release from the New York Giants last week, having cleared waivers on Monday. He is thought to be an intriguing prospect for multiple teams, with some considering him a quality backup and others viewing him as a potential starter.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport listed the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and Las Vegas Raiders as possible destinations over the weekend. However. FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz has reported that the Raiders are not under consideration as the quarterback wants to play for a contender.
“Sources: Despite interest from the #Raiders, free agent QB Daniel Jones has eliminated Las Vegas from his consideration (contrary to other reports),” Schultz wrote in a tweet on Monday. “The former #Giants’ QB is weighing substantial interest from multiple playoff teams, and wants to join a postseason contender.”

Daniel Jones Probably Wouldn’t Get On The Field With A Contender
Should Jones end up on a contending team, he won’t play unless their starter suffers an injury.

But he is set to make $11 million from the Giants in any case, so signing with a well-run franchise and getting an opportunity to acquire a Super Bowl ring would probably mark an excellent finish to the season where he’s concerned.
