Earlier this month, a photo of a shredded Daniel Bellinger made waves around the internet.
The 22-year-old New York Giants’ tight end had the football world talking when he was seen donning a jersey with his sleeves rolled up. Needless to say, Bellinger certainly looks ready for his second NFL season.
When Bellinger was recently asked about the viral photo, he gave it some humor and cited the good lightning, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
“Of course, there’s a picture out there,” Bellinger said. “I was like, ‘That’s some really good lighting.’ The camera guy got me right on that one.’”
Per Schwartz, Bellinger added that he improved his nutrition which reduced his body fat while adding extra muscle mass. On the Giants’ team website, Bellinger is listed at 6-foot-5 and 253 pounds.
The Giants drafted the San Diego State product in the fourth round, 112th overall) last year. The Las Vegas, Nevada native appeared in 12 games and hauled in 30 receptions for 268 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

New York made a big move at tight end earlier this offseason, acquiring former Pro Bowler Darren Waller from the Las Vegas Raiders for a third-round draft pick. The Giants also further addressed their need for pass-catching help by drafting Tennessee wideout Jalin Hyatt with the No. 73 selection.
The Giants are coming off a 9-7-1 season that saw them earn their first playoff berth in six years. They also upset the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round for the franchise’s first postseason win since Super Bowl 46.
