Washington Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder have packed up and left the team’s facility, with a sale now reportedly imminent.
That is according to ProFootballTalk, which cites multiple sources, one of which has claimed that the couple cleared out in late December. Sources have also told the publication that a sale could be both approved and announced during the upcoming NFL meetings set for Arizona (March 26-29).
The Commanders owners disclosed back in November that they were thinking of selling the franchise but there were doubts they actually meant to go through with it.
While a sale is now thought to be a foregone conclusion, there’s no word on the identity of the buyers. However, reports indicate that three different interested parties have been treated to tours of the facility.
Of course, there’s still the matter of Snyder’s absurd demands over indemnification. Per a PFT source, the request to be protected from any consequences include matters currently under investigation.
It’s understood that the other owners will never agree to make it so that Snyder is shielded from any looming punishment given the magnitude of the accusations.

As for the sale, it must be signed off on by at least 24 of the 32 owners. But, given that potential buyers are yet to be identified, approval and an immediate announcement would be surprising.
