A new report from ESPN claims the outgoing Washington Commanders owner once unveiled a PowerPoint presentation containing blackmail material during an NFL owners’ meeting.
The meeting, which took place in 2021, was scheduled to address workplace misconduct, with Snyder’s legal team to answer Beth Wilkinson’s investigation. However, Snyder and his legal team compiled a slideshow featuring embarrassing texts and emails from executives around the league.
Per ESPN, the presentation became known as the “Blackmail PowerPoint” in league circles. And it’s noted that the persons in the room were stunned due to the dirt Snyeder had on several of the top people in the NFL, including commissioner Roger Goodell’s advisor Jeff Pash.
Snyder aimed to call out the league for being hypocritical and it’s said that the rash tactics made some attorneys uncomfortable, which ultimately set things off between Goodell and the owner.
“The tactics were so ruthless that some attorneys felt uncomfortable,” the report reads. “Although none of the content was sexist, anti-gay or graphic, the signal was clear: If Goodell didn’t do what Snyder wanted in terms of handling the Wilkinson report and punishment, these emails and texts would be leaked.”
The league eventually fined the Commanders 10 million but Wilkinson’s findings were never made public.

Snyder is now set to sell the team to a group led by Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris.
It had also been reported that he wanted the league to protect him from any consequences possibly stemming from the investigations he is a subject of as a condition for him selling Washington.
