The Washington Commanders are the only team still without a head coach. However, according to Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline, league sources expect them to hire Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to fill the role.
Quin, who has done an impressive job with the Cowboys’ defense, has been interviewed for head coaching positions for three consecutive years without getting an opportunity to be the main man. It was believed that he would end up in Seattle, yet the Seahawks have gone in another direction.
Pauline writes:
“Now the Commanders are the team still searching for a head coach. The belief is Dan Quinn, who lost out on the Seattle Seahawks job to Mike McDonald as I alluded to on Sunday, will end up as the head coach.”
The Dallas DC has had several interviews with Washington during this cycle and remains a top option, with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson opting to stay put. Mike Vrabel and Bill Belichick are also available, but it appears Quinn is now the leading candidate.
The Commanders are his last hope, with the Seahawks naming a head coach on Wednesday. It should now be just a matter of time.
