By the time Dan Marino stepped away from the football field for good, Deshaun Watson was only four years old, but he still knows about his impact and what lasting impression he left on the game of football.
Over the weekend, the Houston Texans QB made social media go crazy when he spotted a Miami Dolphins shirt that showed a throwback cartoon of Marino on it.
Marino himself found the photo on Twitter and made sure to respond to him.
“Nice shirt @deshaunwatson. Stay safe and #GoDeep” Marino wrote.
That was plenty motivation for Dolphins fans to lose their mind.

The Dolphins franchise is hoping to select their franchise QB in the 2020 NFL Draft, something they haven’t had since Marino retired.
With the way the Texans are just giving away talent, it might not cost the Dolphins very much at all to get Watson.
