Who is going to doubt Dan Marino?
On Wednesday’s edition of First Things First — Dan Marino made a guest appearance when he was posed with the question of how he would do in today’s NFL with its wide-open, offense-friendly game.
Marino stated he would toss for 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns, and that’s not really a shocking thing for him to say.
During his first year in the NFL, he racked up 5,064 yards and 48 touchdowns with an average of 9.0 yards per attempt. In Peyton Manning’s record-setting 55-touchdown campaign, he threw 105 more passes than Marino did.
If you were to apply Marino’s rates there, then he racks up 6,009 yards and 57 touchdowns.
But, we can only dream of what some of the past greats could do in today’s NFL.
