Dan Campbell was in Dan Campbell mode after what was a huge win for his Detroit Lions side on Thursday night.
The Motor City remains several feet over cloud nine following their 21-20 defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs. Sure, the defending Super Bowl champs were without both Travis Kelce and Chris Jones, but the Lions earned their win and should have nothing taken away from them.
“I love the fact our guys never wavered, it was something we talked about,” Campbell told reporters after the game. “We knew we’d hit some tough spots in this game and that happened and nobody got down and we hung in there. I told the team they’re built for this.”
A recording from inside the team locker room shows Campbell claiming there was nothing to learn from the win as he expected a victory on the night.

To be fair, Detroit has been on the come-up, having won eight of their last 10 games in 2022. They were also missing a key receiver in Jameson Williams, who will sit out another five games due to suspension.

The Lions’ next game comes against the Seattle Seahawks, with the fixture set for next Sunday. Campbell expects to win that one too.
