Damar Hamlin’s jersey sales are through the roof on the back of the Buffalo Bills safety’s cardiac incident, which he suffered during Monday night’s Week 17 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 24-year-old remains in medical care and is still believed to be in critical condition after collapsing during the first quarter of this week’s MNF fixture. The incident has brought the country together, with millions already raised via a GoFundMe page.
Now, his jersey is selling like crazy too. According to Fanatics executive chairman Michael Rubin, Hamlin’s jersey is currently the fourth-most popular one being sold by the sportswear manufacturers, right behind that of Bills teammate Josh Allen.
Hamlin started a toy drive via his Chasing M’s foundation in 2020 with a goal of $2,500. The foundation has raised almost $5 million since Monday’s scare and Rubin has announced that all proceeds from the player’s jersey sales will go towards said charity.
The safety spent the night in intensive care, per an update from the Bills. His family has also made a statement in which they claim he is “fighting.”
