Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The entire NFL community has been turned upside down since he collapsed on the field and CPR had to be given to him.
Hamlin spent the night in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s intensive care unit where he still remains in critical condition.
It’s just another reminder of how life can be so short and cruel when you least expect it. In fact, there is a video of Hamlin talking from two weeks ago about how you never know when your last day might come.
“And every day we just had our prayer our DB prayer we do every Wednesday.
Wednesday Outside, he was next to me and I just grabbed his hand a little bit harder just cause, you know, you never know when like the last day could be that you’re getting a experience, something like this you know. So I’m just, I’m cherishing every moment I can.”
Pretty eerie words considering what he is going through. We can only hope and pray he makes it out of this to see all of the love he is getting right now.
Hamlin took a big hit in the chest area during the first quarter in a collision with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, who was running upfield after a catch. Hamlin got up after the play, then suddenly collapsed.

Jordon Rooney, who said he is Hamlin’s marketing representative, offered an update saying Hamlin’s vital were “back to normal” and he was put to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said during a conference call that the league could see the players and coaches were “traumatized” as it discussed suspending the game after his condition.
That game is unlikely to be played anytime soon as the league figures out what to do going forward.
For now, all we care about is Hamlin’s health.
