On Friday, more encouraging news on the condition of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin emerged.
Hamlin has been in the hospital since Monday after going into cardiac arrest in a freak accident during the Bills’ road game against the Cincinnati Bengals. On Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the breathing tube has been removed from Hamlin, and that he has started communicating with teammates again.
The Bills also announced Friday morning that Hamlin even FaceTimed his coaches and players during a team meeting. Hamlin told his team “Love you boys” in a heartwarming message.
According to doctors, after Hamlin woke up, one of the first things he asked was if the Bills won their game. Doctors told the 24-year-old “Yes, you won the game of life.”
