Damar Hamlin has his eye on returning to the football field, but he is being called out for how he showed up to the Super Bowl this week.
For the Buffalo Bills safety, whose heart stopped mid-game during Monday Night Football on Jan. 2, the event was a traumatic experience that brought millions of people together.
At State Farm Stadium, Hamlin showed up wearing a peculiar jacket that had people doing a double take once they saw the back of it. It appeared to mock Jesus Christ. Hamlin wore a jacket with a zombie-like depiction of Jesus Christ on the back. Many users on Twitter slammed Hamlin for his choice of clothing.
“Here’s a better view of Damar Hamlin’s blasphemous jacket. Our prayers might have saved his life, but apparently not his soul,” Stew Peters, from “The Stew Peters Show,” wrote.
One user responded, “How disgusting is that jacket. This feels like a deliberate kick in the teeth to all the people who prayed for him. Why would he do that i (sic) makes no sense.”
