Just moments ago we got the best Damar Hamlin news yet, as it was reported that the Buffalo Bills safety had been discharged from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
And now we have confirmation from Hamlin himself, who released a statement on twitter shortly after. In it, he informs his fans that he’s heading back to Buffalo, while expressing his gratitude for all the love that everyone’s shown him over the past week.
Hamlin spent just less than a week in the hospital after experiencing cardiac arrest twice following a violent collision with Tee Higgins in the first quarter of a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In recent days, he had progressed to the point where he no longer needed a breathing tube and was able to communicate with his teammates. And just yesterday, he was able to watch his team beat the New England Patriots and secure the second seed in the AFC from his hospital bed.
Now, he’ll get to go back home to Buffalo to actually be with his teammates and celebrate the “W” with them.
