NBC took some heat after Damar Hamlin showed up on their broadcast in what was clear distress.
Hamlin, who has made a miraculous return to football after suffering cardiac arrest during a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals back in January, had to watch on as a Buffalo Bills teammate left the field in an ambulance during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Running back Damien Harris suffered a neck injury that required a trip to the hospital after taking a handoff and coming into contact with Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke.
Fortunately, Harris has movement in his arms and legs and was able to show a thumbs-up while being placed into the ambulance. As for Hamlin, the safety was quite emotional while watching from the bench, having found himself in a similar situation earlier this year, though his ordeal was a lot worse.
The video below shows him appearing to wipe his eyes while Harris receives attention.

After the game, Bills head coach Sean McDermott revealed Harris had full movement and that things were looking up.
“My understanding is full movement right now,” McDermott said.
“Fortunate that he’s seemingly heading in a good direction with the reports that we’re getting. So I’m just very thankful to God for that.”
