Beloved American rapper Meek Mill and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin did a FaceTime call with Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who remains in hospital.
During the first quarter of Monday night’s game between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins. Medical personnel managed to restore Hamlin’s heartbeat before he was taken to the hospital.
The 24-year-old has made significant progress in his recovery. His breathing tube has been removed, and Hamlin also communicated with Buffalo players and coaches via FaceTime during a team meeting.
Hamlin has received an incredible amount of support during his recovery. He recently enjoyed a FaceTime call with Meek Mill and Rubin, and you can see a screenshot of their call below. The smile on Hamlin’s face really says it all.
The NFL announced that the Bills-Bengals game would be a no contest, and that they would not reschedule it. The Kansas City Chiefs clinched the first seed on Saturday with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
But the NFL plans to play the AFC Championship Game at a neutral site, depending on the matchup. This is the league’s idea of making it more fair for the Bills and Bengals, who both would have had an opportunity to win the conference’s top seed and lone first round-bye.
