The Buffalo Bills player commemorated the one-year anniversary of his on-field cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals by sharing a heartwarming post on Instagram.
Hamlin collapsed after making a tackle on Tee Higgins near midfield. After initially standing up after making the play, he soon collapsed and was attended to by team medical staff. It was later revealed that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest while on the field, having his heartbeat restored and being taken to the hospital for treatment.
Hamlin was cleared to return to the football field just four months after his life nearly ended on one on Jan. 2, 2023, in a Monday Night Football game between the Bills and Bengals.
Hamlin returned for his first regular season game in October when they took on the Miami Dolphins, as part of the Bills’ special teams for kick returns.

Hamlin has recorded two tackles this season in just five games played. During his three seasons with the Bills, the former sixth round pick recorded 95 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble.
