Dalvin Cook was desperate to leave the Jets after their season blew up and left a lot of money on the table to join the playoff-bound Ravens.
ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio is reporting that the running back gave up $270,000 in wages to make his departure agreement work. According to the publication, he will be able to make close to the sum back in the playoffs as he’s already due $45,000 for Baltimore’s bye next week.
He would get another $50,000 if they win the divisional round, while another $73,000 will come his way if they win the AFC.
There’s also more money to be had from winning the Super Bowl or even making it to the game.
“The losing team in the Super Bowl gets $89,000 per player,” Florio wrote. “The members of the winning team receive $164,000. So, if the Ravens get to the Super Bowl, Cook will make $258,000. If they win it, he’ll get $333,000.”
Cook would need to win the Super Bowl this year if he is to make the money he would have made playing one more game with the Jets.

The Pro Bowler did not see much action in New York this season as Breece Hall was handed most of the snaps. So he’s coming into an already-formidable Ravens side with little use on his body.
A Super Bowl win is hardly far-fetched given what the Ravens have shown up to this point.
