Rumors about running back Dalvin Cook’s future with the Minnesota Vikings continue to swirl and he might be finding out his fate pretty soon.
Pro Football Talk stated in a report that a trade of Cook could come down this week.
“A trade remains very possible, and it could happen by the end of the week, once June 1 comes and goes and the Vikings can split the $6.2 cap acceleration over two years, $3.1 million in 2023 and $3.1 million in 2024.”
The report added that the Dolphins are a team to watch.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald had this to say Saturday.
“For those asking if Dalvin Cook to the Dolphins is a done deal, I have been led to believe it’s not a done deal. Could Cook end up here? Absolutely. It’s certainly a real possibility if he’s cut by Minnesota. There would be interest on both sides. But from my understanding, there’s not some secret agreement between the parties.”
Cook remains a member of the Vikings through the June 1st deadline, and could now be released.

Jackson added that it’s not a guarantee Minnesota would release Cook if the team can’t find a trade suitor at the moment.
Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler, amassed 1,468 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He rushed for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns on 264 carries while adding 39 catches for 295 yards and two scores.
If Cook does leave the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, the team will turn to backup Alexander Mattison, who signed a two-year, $7 million contract to remain with the team.
In six seasons with the Vikings, Cook has rushed for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per attempt.
