Dalvin Cook just screwed up so terribly that the New York Jets would be better off not signing him.
After appearing on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football earlier in the day, the four-time Pro Bowl running back went on the record stating that the odds are “pretty high” he will sign with the Jets.
While appearing on CBS Sports on Friday, the veteran running back screwed up royally when he made the bold claim that should he sign with the Jets, New York would become a “super team.”
“With the roster, they have already put together and with the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, so adding a guy like me, you know what I bring to the table, we could probably be a superteam when you put it together,” Cook said.
Super team should never be used in football and it serves as a cautionary tale after Vince Young said it about the Eagles. The Eagles had high hopes of competing for a Super Bowl with several notable offseason acquisitions – new backup quarterback Vince Young commented that the roster was a “dream team.”
The team went from 10-6 the previous year to missing the playoffs after he aid that.

Time will tell if the veteran running back will be signed by the Jets, especially after Rodgers’s decision to take a significant pay cut, that freed up $35 million for New York.
Last year, Cook had 1,468 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns. That is a ton of production that he would love to have.
