The New York Jets have revealed their plans regarding running backs Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall for their Week 1 fixture against the neighboring Buffalo Bills.
The Jets have a pair of top running backs on their roster after bringing Cook in from free agency in the offseason and head coach Robert Saleh has disclosed that both of them will play in the season opener, per NFL.com.
Hall is coming off an ACL tear and did not make any appearances in preseason. Despite sitting out practice on Monday, Saleh says he’s going to start vs. Buffalo as his absence is due to a planned day off.
The player, who is headed into his second season in the pros, will not have a heavy workload given Cook’s arrival.
“I don’t know if I want to call it a snap count, but we are gonna be smart with them,” Saleh noted. “We’ll continue to evaluate and build up what we think Monday needs to be, but it’s not that we’re putting a snap count on it.
“It’s just they’re two really good football players; Michael Carter’s a really good football player, and just trying to find a way to feature all of them, along with the receivers and tight ends that we have. So there’s gonna be enough to go around.”
Hall impressed during his rookie season in 2022 before getting sidelined with injury, while Cook has been to the Pro Bowl for four consecutive years.

While this is a bit of a problem for Salah, it’s a headache every coach wants.
