Dalvin Cook was showing no mercy to the Detroit Lions during the first quarter of this NFC North battle.
On a first-and-goal play from the Lions’ one-yard line, Cook took a pitch to the left side and found himself with just one Detroit defender standing between him and the end zone. That defender was Lions safety DeShon Elliott. And while DeShon gave it his best shot, he came away from this 1-on-1 battle with a pair of broken ankles.
That first video doesn’t do this nasty juke justice. Just look at how badly Cook makes Elliott’s ankles buckle:
Cook and the Vikings are without a few key pieced on their offensive line today, so they’ll need Cook to win a lot more one-on-one battles like this one.
Heading into today’s game, the 27-year-old running back had 927 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, along with another 157 yards and a touchdown through the air. He’ll be looking to help his Vikings add another win to their NFC North-best 10-2 record this season.
