It’s not official yet, but it’s clear that Dalvin Cook will be suiting up with the New York Jets for the 2023 season.
Appearing on Good Morning Football today, Cook made it known he wants to play for the Jets over every other team and it has to do with one man.
“A-Rod,” Cook said when asked why he wants the Jets. “It’s a unique situation because I think they’re building something special over there. When you look at it, I always want to be around someone where you can pick their brain and A-Rod is a four-time MVP. So just being around a guy like that, you can learn a lot more just by being around the player and that’s what I’m looking to do.”
The New York Jets will be running back Dalvin Cook’s first stop this offseason, according to multiple reports.
Cook, who made the Pro Bowl and rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons, spent his first six years in the league with the Minnesota Vikings. He was released last month after the Vikings failed to find a trade partner. Cook would have counted $14.1 million against Minnesota’s salary cap had he remained on the team by the start of the season.

Cook seems like a lock to sign with the Jets after Aaron Rodgers agreed to a massive pay cut.
It should be noted that he recently said his hometown Miami Dolphins were his preferred destination, but it all comes down to his first stop.
If Cook joins either AFC team, it would spell doom for opposing defenses around the league.
