Whoever manages the local news/programming in Dallas for the NBC affiliate really did not want the fans in the area to enjoy the final playoff of the day.
Dallas-based KXAS-NBC drew immediate blowback after it cut away from the final moments of the Lions-Rams game. They did so to give a weather update on the frigid temperatures in the Dallas region over the weekend.
However, that update could’ve waited a few minutes as fans in the DFW area were unable to see the emotional scenes from Detroit as fans celebrated seeing a playoff victory for the first time in 32 years.
Fans in Dallas were probably over football at that point, seeing how their team lost to the Green Bay Packers in blowout fashion a few hours earlier in the day. However, it would’ve been nice for everybody to be given the option to see the end of the game.
The Cowboys were eliminated from the postseason in the opening round, not the NFC Championship Game some felt was expected for this team.
The Green Bay Packers behind first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love came into AT&T stadium and shocked everybody with his performance as he led his team to a 48-32 victory. It was the most points the team had allowed all year and their first loss at home in almost two years.
