It looks like Dallas Cowboys fans won’t be getting their late Christmas gift after all.
ESPN Senior Reporter Ed Werder reported on Thursday that staff on the Dallas Cowboys will retain Jason Garrett, whether that is head coach or some role with the team.
Garrett’s contract is set to expire on Jan. 14.
The Cowboys finished the season 8–8. Garrett is 85–67 in his nearly 10 years as the Cowboys’ head coach.
