The Dallas Cowboys may not have added any wide receivers to help out Dak Prescott at the trade deadline, but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying to add to their roster.
According to sources, Jerry Jones and company were in the mix on at least a few of the speedy wideouts that were said to be available at the deadline. They tried to acquire Houston Texans star Brandin Cooks, but his fully guaranteed $18-million salary for 2023 made a deal nearly impossible.
Dallas also made a run at Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, but in the end the two sides just couldn’t come to an agreement.
With all those guys and many more no longer available, Dallas has not reportedly placed free agent Odell Beckham Jr. “in their sights.”
According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Beckham’s availability was one of the reasons why the Cowboys didn’t feel overly pressured to overpay for a wide receiver at the trade deadline.

Odell Beckham Jr ., the top free agent available, is firmly on the Cowboys’ radar, sources say, and they are expected to be in the mix when he’s ready to pick his team upon full recovery from an ACL tear .
Dallas (6-2) has plenty of weapons, but its pursuit of a receiver who can run shows the team is in the market for more offensive help.
Of course, the Cowboys won’t be the only one trying to sign OBJ. They’ll be in tough if they want to add him, as they’re expected to face stiff competition from the Bills, Rams, Giants, Packers and Chiefs, among others.
