The Dallas Cowboys have a new nickname for their offense, according to quarterback Dak Prescott.
With Kellen Moore gone after four seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator, head coach Mike McCarthy will be the one calling plays in 2023.
Prescott spoke to reporters about the team’s offense this week, revealing it has a new nickname following some changes made by McCarthy.
“Funny, this is the Texas Coast,” the QB said, per NFL.com. “We just renamed it that, the quarterbacks. It’s got definitely some West Coast principles, but has a little bit of what we’ve done in the past and just obviously marrying them together with a lot of detail and maybe in a sense, a system that’s not out there. So there you go.”
We can’t be sure even Dak’s a fan of the nickname but it certainly doesn’t appear to be a hit with the folks on social media.

Who knows, though? Maybe the new offense and its nickname could be just what America’s team needs. The Cowboys need to show marked improvement next season after falling to the fourth-best offense in 2022 after boasting the NFL’s most potent attack the year prior.
Prescott, in particular, struggled to throw the ball. The signal-caller led the league with 15 interceptions yet he wasn’t all to blame as the Cowboys lacked another solid receiving option alongside CeeDee Lamb, while Ezekiel Elliott’s rushing game regressed.
The team has since brought in Brandin Cooks and it’s hoped that they could have better results in 2023.
They also hired Brian Schottenheimer as an offensive coordinator, but he will deal mainly with game planning and not the playbook.
