That’s not always the case, but we certainly know that a 28-3 lead is far from safe against Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots. The Pats, of course, erased that 25-point deficit in the second half of Super Bowl 51 against the Atlanta Falcons, and they went on to win 34-28 in overtime.
They said “No lead is safe” in the world of sports.
The Dallas Cowboys fittingly held a 28-3 lead against the Patriots going into halftime of Sunday’s game. And Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, you may recall, was Atlanta’s head coach during that collapse.
