The Dallas Cowboys are now the betting favorites to land a future Hall of Famer and veteran wide receiver.
Seven-time Pro Bowler and ex-Atlanta Falcons superstar wideout Julio Jones remains a free agent following an injury-riddled campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wednesday will mark two weeks since free agency opened, but a player with Jones’ credentials should land a contract well before Week 1.
OddsChecker has released the latest betting odds for Jones, and the Dallas Cowboys are the early favorites to land the Alabama product at +200, followed by the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs at +400.
The Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers share the third-best odds at +500. The Los Angeles Chargers and New York Giants are next on that list with equal odds of +800.
The Cowboys already made one big move at the wide receiver position, acquiring veteran speedster Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans. Cooks, a six-time 1,000-yard wideout, will complement superstar CeeDee Lamb in the passing game.
Adding the 34-year-old Jones comes with practically zero risk at this stage. Though he’s been limited to just 49 games over the last three years, the future Hall of Famer had a few memorable big plays with the Bucs last season.
Jones caught 24 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns last season. In the Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Cowboys, Jones hauled in seven receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. Jones’ third quarter TD grab was the penultimate touchdown throw of Tom Brady’s illustrious career.
