The Dallas Cowboys have signed a former highly-touted offensive lineman and first-round pick to their practice squad.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys added Billy Price to their practice squad earlier this morning. The Ohio State product was most recently on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad before signing with Dallas on Wednesday.
The Bengals drafted Price in the first round (21st overall) back in 2018. The veteran guard was a standout for the Ohio State Buckeyes, helping them to a 2015 national championship victory over the Oregon Ducks.
Price played with the Bengals from 2018 to 2020 before landing with the New York Giants in 2021. He was on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad last year before landing with the Arizona Cardinals, where he made 11 starts.
Dallas’ offensive line has already endured a plethora of injuries. Star guard Zack Martin missed Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals with an ankle injury, and center Tyler Biadasz was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Second-year tackle Tyler Smith missed the club’s first two games with a hamstring injury before making his season debut against the Cardinals. Ahead of Sunday’s clash with the New England Patriots, the Cowboys also listed Pro Bowl offensive lineman Tyron Smith on their injury report.
