When Dak Prescott left the field for the final time in 2020 due to his brutal ankle injury, he was in tears as he knew he wouldn’t be suiting up again for the team this season.
In a video that originated via WFAA, Prescott was more calm as he was seen on his phone watching Dallas finish off the New York Giants on Sunday evening while being loaded off an ambulance and into a local hospital for emergency surgery.
Injured in the third quarter of the Cowboys’ 37-34 victory, Prescott underwent successful surgery to repair a compound fracture and dislocation in his right ankle.
His recovery is expected to last between 4-6 months.
Prescott was on pace for a record-shattering year with an NFL-leading 1,690 passing yards through four games.
He was 14-of-21 for 166 yards and an interception prior to his injury.
