While many Cowboys fans may be screaming for a quarterback controversy, I’m pretty sure anyone within the organization will tell you that, when he’s healthy, Dak Prescott is undoubtedly their guy under center.
That’s not to say that Cooper Rush doesn’t deserve some consideration after everything he’s done in Dak’s absence. He’s proven that he can be a capable starting quarterback in this league…
But so has Dak Prescott through the first six seasons of his NFL career. So I wouldn’t expect the team to bench him in year seven, after everything he’s done, just because he sustained a finger injury.
And besides, it’ll be hard not to turn back to Dak when he’s dropping dimes like this:

Dak didn’t dress for the game, but he’s getting closer. And with Cooper Rush struggling through the first half of action on SNF, Cowboys fans couldn’t help but get excited over what they were seeing from Dak’s little throwing session at Lincoln Financial Field.
There is currently no timeline for Dak’s return, although, based on today’s footage it appears as though a return to action against the Lions in week 7 is not out of the question.
