The Dallas Cowboys have a serious decision to make in the next coming weeks to months in regards to their star quarterback. Dak wants to get paid, and the franchise wants to pay him, but not a ridiculous amount to where they can’t spend money somewhere else to keep the team competitive.
While speaking to Kimberly Martin of Yahoo Sports — Prescott joked about his contract talks and was asked about whether he believes he is worth $40 million a year or not.
“You tell me,” Prescott answered in the video with Kimberly Martin, adding, “You’re the prognosticator.”
The decision on giving Dak a new contract has been talked about since before the start of the 2019 season. Ezekiel Elliott held out and got his deal, but Dak elected to bet on himself and stay out there to improve his chances for an even bigger deal.
The Mississippi State product responded well as he ended the season with 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
“Yeah, I mean, I’m wondering the same thing,” Prescott said when Martin asked him when he will get paid. “Y’all know just as much as me. Love when that day comes. But I have confidence in my agency, my agents, my team. I’ve got confidence in the Cowboys. Something will get done.”

He has reportedly already turned down a $33 million deal, so one leads you to believe he is gunning for a deal that exceeds what Russell Wilson has gotten.
If the two sides can’t reach an agreement, the reality of Prescott getting the franchise tag becomes more likely.
