Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper are all in line to receive a massive contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys as they head into the 2019 regular season. Only one of the three are currently holding out to get his money sooner rather than later.
Ezekiel Elliott can be argued as the league’s best running back over the past two years and currently has two years and $12-plus million remaining on his rookie contract.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was recenylt asked about Elliott’s holdout and he delivered a brutally honest assessment of the situation.
“Just knowing his love for the game, knowing his love for his teammates, sure,” Prescott said, per ESPN. “But business is business. That’s for him and his team to handle.”
That’s how you put your support behind a teammate without commenting about what type of money he wants or should get.
The Cowboys are likely to make the trio of Prescott, Elliott and Cooper among the three-highest paid players at their respective positions and it just might all go down before the upcoming season.
Like it or not, the Cowboys are a legit Super Bowl contender.
