Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott surprisingly leads all active signal-callers in a special category.
As noted by the NFL on FOX Podcast X (formerly known as Twitter) account, Prescott is the longest-tenured quarterback on his current team.
Prescott replaced Aaron Rodgers in that category after the latter was traded to the New York Jets ahead of April’s NFL Draft. Rodgers had been with the Green Bay Packers for 18 seasons, from 2005 to 2022.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen plenty of NFL quarterbacks change teams after spending considerable time with one franchise.
Tom Brady was with the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2019 before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Philip Rivers was with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers from 2004 to 2019 before heading to the Indianapolis Colts for his final season in 2020.
Matthew Stafford was with the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020 before the two sides agreed to a trade. In 2021, he was sent to the Los Angeles Rams in a deal that brought Jared Goff over to Motor City.

Matt Ryan played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2021 before getting traded to the Colts in 2022. Ryan was released this past offseason after a frustrating year in Indy, and though he hasn’t officially retired, the 2016 league MVP wound up joining CBS Sports to work as an NFL analyst.
And of course, Russell Wilson played for the Seattle Seahawks from 2012 to 2021, before getting traded to the Denver Broncos.
