Despite an ugly performance against the 49ers, QB Dak Prescott got a vote of confidence from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. However, Dak is still the talk of Dallas for his poor showing against the San Francisco 49ers.
Prescott had himself a rough Sunday night. He notched a 51.6 passer rating by throwing for 153 yards on 14-of-24 passing with one touchdown and three interceptions, his third career game with three picks.
Prescott still has one year remaining on the four-year, $160 million contract he signed back in 2021 and it appears he will play out that contract until it is done.
ESPN’s Matt Miller noted that the Cowboys moving on from Prescott after this season is not a good financial move.
“Dak Prescott would count $62 million against the cap if he’s released or traded,” Miller tweeted Tuesday. “Very hard to see him going anywhere else next year. Or to see Dallas adding competition that isn’t on the roster already.”
Despite his best efforts to cut down on his interceptions, once he threw one, he couldn’t stop throwing it as both Cowboys’ losses have come in those games.

Prescott struggled with turnovers last season and with four so far this season, it seems like more of the same.
On the other side, Brock Purdy threw for 252 yards on 17-of-24 passing and a career-high four touchdowns.
The Cowboys are currently 3-2 with their other loss coming against the Arizona Cardinals. Next week they are scheduled to visit the Los Angeles Chargers on “Monday Night Football.”
In order for Dallas to break through this year, they will have to go through the Eagles and 49ers, the only two remaining undefeated teams in the league.
