Dak Prescott has been trending all week after his latest comments regarding interceptions from last year and the upcoming season.
Dak Prescott led the league in regular-season interceptions last year, tossing 15 picks in 12 games.
Multiple reports stated he said, “I won’t have 10 interceptions this year.”
Prescott actually stated those words, but the team claim that his words are being taken out of context.
The team claims that his words were in reference to “tipped” interceptions.
Gabriel Trevino of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram provided the full quote:
“I know who I am, and you can go back and take away half of those off drops,” he said. “I’m not saying it’s on the receiver, but if you cut that in half then we start talking about those, nobody is talking about it… Some of it is the offense and them understanding exactly where we are. Mike does an amazing job with those guys. They know where to be, why to be, when they’re getting looked at. That’s going to be a big jump. I won’t have 10 interceptions this year.”

However, the Cowboys’ quote was different.
“Do I blame those receivers, no,” Prescott said. “Mike does an amazing job (with the receivers). They know where the hell to be, why to be, and when they’re getting looked at. That’s going to be a big jump, I think. We won’t have those tipped interceptions this year.”
Dak has only had two seasons in his career where he had less than 10 interceptions.
Either way, Prescott and the offense have to clean up the turnovers if they are ever going to ever realize their full potential past the regular season. Winning double-digit games in the regular season is one thing, but actually winning multiple games in the postseason has been a problem for the team since the 90s.
The Cowboys haven’t reached an NFC Championship Game since January 1996, the last year they won a Super Bowl.
The fan base is tired of the words, and wants results on the field.
