Jim Harbaugh’s wife has hinted at where her husband could end up coaching in 2024.
The Michigan head coach is one of the most sought-after among NFL teams with vacancies, but the Wolverines are also desperate to keep him and are keen on tying him down to a new, long-term contract.
Harbaugh is scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers again this week and, according to Michigan insider Chris Balas, his wife has made the trip with him.
While this might not mean anything, many reckon it suggests that the Harbaugh family could be getting ready to move to L.A. The Chargers, who fired Brandon Staley before the end of the season, have Harbaugh at the top of their list, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“He’s met with two teams. He’s met with the Chargers and he’s met with the Falcons,” Schefter said on ‘Get Up’ recently (H/T On3). “Now, the Chargers are a team that, to me, has identified him and I think he’s right near, if not, at the top of their list.
“And the question is whether they can get something done with Jim, who’s spoken in the past with the Vikings two years ago about going to the NFL, it didn’t happen, and with the Broncos last year, didn’t happen.”
The Chargers will have to make an excellent second impression on Harbaugh if that really is the case. But they do have Justin Herbert as their starting quarterback, which helps their cause as Harbaugh is believed to hold him in high esteem.
