Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth were on the call of the Lions vs. Rams game on Sunday Night Football and it did not take long for fans at home to be irritated.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford took a nasty hit in the third quarter of the Wild Card game against the Detroit Lions. Replay showed his head bounce off the turf and it appeared he could be seen knocked unconscious for a few seconds before he came out of it.
A lot of fans could see it and they took major issue with Cris Collinsworth’s commentary on Matthew Stafford’s injury as he stopped himself from speculating about Stafford’s injury.

The two-time Pro Bowler was tackled multiplied times by Lions pass rushers and appeared to be in grave pain. He walked off the field and headed for the blue medical tent. After getting some treatment in the blue tent, Stafford returned to the field.
It does not appear he was ever checked for concussion-like symptoms.
Following the Rams’ elimination from the postseason, head coach Sean McVay initially stated he wasn’t sure whether the quarterback was evaluated for a concussion. He spoke to a member of the Rams staff and then confirmed Stafford did get tested for a concussion and was cleared before returning to the game.
The head coach also confirmed that the Super Bowl-winning signal-caller hurt his ribs as well during the contest.
In the end, Jared Goff threw for a touchdown and completed a pass for a victory-sealing first down against the team that traded him. The Detroit Lions won a playoff game for the first time in 32 years, beating Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 on Sunday night.
