While covering the NFC Wild Card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles — Cris Collinsworth made it clear that he is one of many who believe we have seen the last of Brady playing on a NFL field.
Collinsworth predicted that Brady will return for a 21st season.
“All it would be for me is a guess, and I don’t like to guess without a little insider information, but let’s just say there are a few teams out there that would love a little extra help in selling tickets,” Collinsworth said. “And we’ve seen Peyton Manning, at the end of his career, make a move and win a Super Bowl. And I know the Joe Namath stories, and I know the Joe Montana stories and I know all those things.
“I’m just telling you, I know there are people who think Tom Brady’s finished. I did not see that this year. I think he plays again. I think he plays well.”
He was then asked by co-host Al Michaels if he believes Brady will return to the Patriots.
“I don’t,” Collinsworth said. “… If I had to guess, how about a wild guess? How about the Chargers. … I’m just saying, if there was one franchise that could use him the most, if Rivers goes, never know.”

After completing 20 of his 37 passes for 209 yards, zero touchdowns and 1 interception in the 20-13 defeat to the Titans — Brady addressed his futre during the post-game.
“I would say it’s pretty unlikely,” Brady said about a potential retirement, “but…yeah…hopefully unlikely.”
“I love the Patriots,” Brady said. “I mean, they obviously, it’s the great organization and playing for Mr. Kraft all these years and for Coach (Bill Belichick). I mean, there’s nobody who’s had a better career, I would say, than me just being with them. So I’m very blessed.
“I don’t know what the future looks like, and I’m not going to predict it. So I wish we would’ve won tonight, and I wish we would’ve done a lot of things better over the course of the season, but we just didn’t get the job done.”
Brady will turn 43 in August.
