Colin Kaepernick has missed two straight seasons and is still suing the league for collusion, and it seems he might be left on the outside looking in without given another chance.
But that didn’t stop Cris Carter from suggesting Kaepernick could return to professional football, and suit up for … the Patriots. Yes, he was serious.
“The Patriots are not a great drafting team. We tell the Tom Brady story, but they miss more than the hit in the draft,” Carter said on FS1’s “First Things First” Friday. “If you look at most of their players, they come from –– let me get a retread here. I wouldn’t be consumed with just the draft.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised,” he said. “I just think they’ll do it a different way. I know the Krafts are very, very fond of Colin Kaepernick. I know that situation we had, the national anthem, they wish we never went down that road. If someone will do it, it will be the people in New England.”
Carter says the Krafts are “very fond” of Kaepernick, but didn’t cite any sources to prove what he said was true.
It is no secret that Kraft is close friends with President Donald Trump, who has had past issues with Anthem kneelers, but he has also been critical of him as well, stating Trump’s language when speaking about kneeling football players was “divisive” and “horrible.”
