Cris Carter does not feel sorry or is in the least bit surprised that Cam Newton is without a job this week.
Cam Newton urged fans not to “feel sorry” for him after he was released by the New England Patriots on Tuesday following one season and three preseason games.
He doesn’t have to worry about that when it comes to Cris Carter, because the former NFL WR made his feelings clear on Twitter.
Carter tweeted “I’m not surprised the Patriots cut an unvaccinated Cam.”
Newton never said he was unvaccinated, but the former MVP also told reporters that he wanted to steer clear of that subject.
“It’s too personal to discuss it,” Newton said when asked if he’s vaccinated. “I’ll just keep it at that.”

Adam Beasley of the Pro Football Network thinks it was his vaccination status that ultimately got him cut.
“There wasn’t just one reason that Cam Newton is gone. It was a combination of at least three, I’m told: Mac Jones’ emergence, Newton’s vaccination stance (which caused a bit of a stir behind the scenes) and Cam’s uninspiring performance this summer,” Beasley said.
Newton missed crucial time last week due to COVID-19 protocols, which opened the door for rookie quarterback Mac Jones to get most of the first-team reps.
The Patriots signed Newton in the middle of the 2020 offseason after nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
