Dez Bryant’s playing days are likely over, so now he is trying to recruit talent to the team where he made his name.
Former All-Pro wide receiver wants his former team to add some superstar to their ranks this year.
Taking to Twitter, Bryant advocated for the Cowboys to try and acquire All-Pro running back Derrick Henry from the Tennessee Titans. He believes the Cowboys would be better suited for him while being paired with Tony Pollard.
“Cowboys get Derrick Henry with the supporting cast they have… Prescott Pollard Lamb Cooks Gallup and sprinkle in Turpin/Vaughn. Derrick Henry will bring the perfect balanced to execute all of the firepower the cowboys have… that’s a tough offense with a tough defense… Explosive Strength Balance and Speed Reminder.. Derrick Henry carried the load in Tennessee his whole entire career.. he don’t have to do that in Dallas… I like the idea of this Yr cowboy team,” Bryant wrote.
Unfortunately, Bryant isn’t paying attention to the fact that Henry is set to hit the Titans’ salary cap for $16 million this season – one of the reasons there has been speculation about a trade.
A team trading for Henry would have to compensate Tennessee and pay the “other” running back the same that Pollard is making, $10 million.

It’s a nice thought, but the only way Derrick Henry would play on the Cowboys would be a trade-in EA NFL Madden.
Henry won back-to-back rushing titles in 2019 and 2020 before missing nine games in 2021 with a broken foot.
Last season, the former Offensive Player of the Year returned to lead the NFL in carries for the third time in four seasons. His 1,538 yards were the third-most of his career and left him second to Las Vegas’ Josh Jacobs, who ran for 1,653.
Over the past four seasons, Henry has had 1,249 rushes.
